Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. I’m back today with one more giveaway from the people over at Learning Resources. The HearALL Assessment Recorder is perfect for recording groups. Let me tell you a little about it! Learning Resources provided me with the product to review for you, but the opinions listed below are mine. The HearALL has a 4 way omni-directional microphone that works great when you have kids sitting around the table! It also works perfectly when you’re recording a language sample with a little one who can’t stay in one place for very long! I just placed the recorder in the center of the play area and then as the little one moved around the mic was still able to record the sample without any problem! The recorder uses WAV or MP3 files. Storing files and using the recorder is really easy. I used it the first time on the fly and it was super easy to figure out! The current price is $99.99, but one lucky Speech Room News reader will get a free one! Just enter using the rafflecopter entry below! Goodluck! I will draw a winner on Thursday! In the meantime visit their Facebook page and say thanks from Speech Room News! a Rafflecopter giveaway You need javascript enabled to see this giveaway.

Courtney Decker says
Thank you so much for sharing your creative edge! I appreciate reading your blog and gaining insight and ideas that I never would have discovered on my own. I was through some interactive adaptive books that I have downloaded/purchased over time, and was curious if there was a way to adapt other stories in more of an interactive format. I suppose my need for information is similar to J-9; however, it isn’t the implementation portion, it is the materials. I have students in a self-contained classroom now, and it is really a matter of adapting the materials more than anything. I have utilized an adaptive book and had the students match pictures, utilize a switch such as a Big Mac when their is a common phrase such as “Who lives in the ocean?” and then a Cheap Talk for voice output of the items in the ocean, but I tend to think very narrow minded. When I think of books like “Brown Bear Brown Bear” or “There was an old lady….” books, I tend to wonder if a similar concept could be created in an adaptive book form for those who struggle with attention or who need that hand over hand piece.
Again, thank you so much for your willingness to share what you create. I know the value of time and as a speech-language pathologist, I also know that we do not have much of it!

I always learn something new when I visit your website. You have the most creative and amazing ideas. One helpful idea might be to add a goal and objective database based on the national standards. Most states, including mine, will bee adopting those standards and it would be great to have a one-stop-shop to access ideas.
