It’s the 3rd day of sharing Social Thinking activities from our speech group. Don’t worry, I’m stopping at 3. 12 Days of Social? Ain’t nobody got time for that! ‘Think vs. Say” is a game my students play often. We listen to a scenario and then write down our the first thing we think. We write that comment on the ‘brain’ sticky note. Then we think about what might be best to say. We write that on the ‘mouth’ sticky note. USUALLY what we think and what we say doesn’t match. This week we played a Christmas version! You can buy the SLP Sticky Notes Collection on Amazon (affiliate link included). I gave the kids a Christmas gift from my Guess the Gift packet. They wrote on what they would think about the gift on the brain sticky note. Then we wrote appropriate responses on the mouth sticky note! One strategy we focused on was stating a ‘fact’ instead of an opinion if they didn’t like the gift. For example when given a set of golf clubs, you can say “Wow the drivers are powerful!” Hope you’ve enjoyed these 3 super social thinking filled days!
