I’ve seen this little survey on a few of my favorite blogs so I thought I’d share a little about my year with you! 1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before? Made the ASHA Leader multiple times! (squeel) Here and here. Plus posted some more on ASHAsphere which you can read here. And spoke at an out of state conference (ISHA). 2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? 2013: Save up and buy a car. ((NAILED it – Love my new Ford Edge)) Be happy. ((Mostly nailed it 🙂 Working on always finding the positive)). 2104: Be happy. Buy a house. 3. Did anyone close to you give birth? YES! When you’re in your twenties people are popping out those babies! My friend even lived with me while pregnant this spring. Loving the new babies! 4. Did anyone close to you die? Unfortunately yes. Is it weird that I always keep two personal days saved for funerals? I’ve used them every year. It was a great celebration of Mamaw’s life this November. 5. What countries did you visit? Jamaica! I want to go back and live on the island! 6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013? More sleep, more books, more family time, more balance! 7. What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? August – I started my new job! 8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I think making the leap to a new job. And maybe 9. What was your biggest failure? I really wanted to go to ASHA, but it was my Granny’s 90th birthday that weekend. So it wasn’t a failure, but a disappointment that the dates lined up like that! 10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I did get stitches in the spring. On a roadtrip to visit my brother with his friends I fell at the Arch in Missouri. Just a few stitches and a lot of laughing at my clumsiness. 11. What was the best thing you bought? My new car! 12. Where did most of your money go? Car, Vacation, Taxes, Student loans (ugh) 13. What did you get really excited about? Jamaica in March. Best. Trip. EVER. 14. What song will always remind you of 2013? Blurred Lines 15. Compared to this time last year, are you: – happier or sadder? I think happier – thinner or fatter? I wish the scale said thinner, but it doesn’t! – richer or poorer? Richer! Thankfully! 16. What do you wish you’d done more of? More traveling, more napping. 17. What do you wish you’d done less of? Less time glued to my computer working, less time sucked into NCIS marathons. 18. How did you spend Christmas? With my family in Ohio this year. 19. What was your favorite TV program? The Voice 20. What were your favorite books of the year? Me Before You: A Novel,The Husband’s Secret, Gone Girl: A Novel, Room: A Novel 21. What was your favorite music from this year? I love the Civil Wars, Of Monsters and Men, JT, and everything country music. 22. What were your favorite films of the year? I love to laugh! The Heat was my favorite! 23. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 27 this year! Went to my favorite hibachi grill with my mom and friends. Plus some mexican food celebrating! 24. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? More time with my family. 25. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013? Layers, flats, jeans. 26. What kept you sane? The internet. TV. Smart Phones. Vacations. Playing with kids all day at work. 27. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013. Surprises are worth the wait! Happy New Year!
