SLP Holiday Gift Guide

Happy Holidays! Every year, I make a list of gifts that fellow like-minded SLPs might enjoy! Finding gifts for family can be hard, but the lovely SLP in your life deserves the best! She might enjoy something from this list! SLPs are a wonderful bunch but we can be hard to buy for sometimes! I’ve included 24 gifts that your favorite SLP might be able to use at work. ONE:

Last Christmas, I got a big surprise under the tree! Now, I’m lost if I forget my apple watch on in the morning. I love that it sets alarms for me,vibrates when I’m supposed to head to a meeting, records speech samples, and let’s me stay connected even during busy therapy days. Grab your iWatch generation 3.

TWO::

THREE::

Support of a local business that employs young adults with special needs. In central Ohio, my co-workers quit their jobs to open Pathways to Independence of Central Ohio. It’s a vocational support/coaching nonprofit. They are also using a doggy daycare to employ young adults and do on the job training. Cooper LOVES attending and I love giving my money to a good cause. Find one local to your area and purchase a gift card!

FOUR::

An iPad is becoming more and more affordable now that minis exist! If you still don’t have an iPad for therapy, I highly suggest adding it to your wish list. You can get a refurbished iPad mini for about $200.

FIVE::

I’m not usually into the “lips” themed shoes, clothes, etc. for SLPs because I feel like they’re usually “sexy” lips and that’s pretty much the opposite of our jobs! SIX::

I’ve shared these before, but I can’t help but LOVE these sticky notes! Every SLP needs open mouth sticky notes.

Have you tried a Google Home yet? We got one last Christmas and it’s convenient! I love telling it what to do.

Finding the perfect work shoe is HARD. Since I work with high needs kids, I usually wear tennis shoes or flats. I love these black and white Nike tennis shoes.

THIRTEEN:: 

I use music all the time in speech therapy. I usually have it playing from my phone so I love to use a  Bose Bluetooth Speaker to make it loud enough for all to hear.

Most SLPs look something like a bag lady during the school year. I have a this Stella and Dot bag that’s huge and great. I’ve also been eyeing this Lululemon bag. Super cute!

 

SEVENTEEN::

I love my Erin Condren life planner. I just can’t go digital with my calendar yet. I’ve used an EC for about four years now and I can’t go back!

EIGHTEEN::

There is a lot of stress involved with being an SLP. What your fav SLP really wants is to sit back and work out those kinks! A gift card for some pampering is just what the doctor ordered.

NINETEEN::

The Kurig is nothing new, but if your favorite SLP doesn’t have one in her office, add it to the list pronto! I use mine daily!

TWENTY:

Every SLP I know has a pile of books. Book ends or a shelf organizer are a great idea to spruce up the office!

TWENTY ONE::

I bought this 52 lists book last year! I love the guided prompts for journaling.

TWENTY TWO:

Throw it back to Speech Science class and record your child’s voice saying “I Love You”  on this leather bracelet from Just Leather B on Etsy.
