As staff, parents, and students enter the classroom, do they know what your target core word of the week is?
In my classrooms with AAC users, I love to focus on one core word of the week. This allows all staff to emphasize the targeted word and model it in different contexts.
I share the core word of the week packets in my TpT store. You can check them out here. They are editable in that you can add your own symbols to each packet!
To pair with my AAC Word of the Week packets, I’ve created a free editable set of Door Hangers for AAC.
Open the file and add any AAC symbol saved as a JPG file. Throughout the year, I used one core word as the focus for the week. I stuffed teachers, paras, OT, PT, and APE mailboxes full of handouts each week. By adding the door hanger, it’s really clear to any staff member what the AAC focus is for the week!
