Verb Quest App Review & Giveawy

Smarty Ears has published a new app called Verb Quest authored by Rosie Simms. The app lends a nod to a certain Mr. Potter that my third grade student recognized  immediately last night!

2014-10-29 21.00.30

Start by adding a  player and then tapping the player to select them.

2014-10-29 20.57.15

Play with one or more student.  I obviously played with my good friend JUSTIN!

2014-10-29 20.57.43

The app has 20 levels of play to target a various verb tenses. You can play more than one level at the same time. I love that the levels automatically progress as the kids make progress.

2014-10-29 20.59.11

Each probe has a picture, a sentence and choices to fill in the blank. After you drag the answer use the record button to make a sentence orally pops up. The student works to get through the 10 stones at the top of the page. Chose to move on to the next level or repeat the same level.

2014-10-29 21.00.00

Student progress reports are sorted by session or by level. Options in the app include auto progression, hints, background, sounds, rewards, recording, etc. You can also select or deselect specific sentences.

This app was provided for review by Smarty Ears. No other compensation was provided and the opinions are mine.

  • I LOVE Smarty Ears apps, they are the BEST! I use Smarty Ears apps every day at school for something, either articulation, categories, prepositions, syntax, you name it! I need this verb app to work on verb tenses and sentences with the many elementary aged students I have with these goals. Using apps keeps them interested, excited, and engaged in learning, especially when the same old picture cards starts wearing thin.
