One of the new ‘staples’ in my therapy cart are the interactive artic/phono posters. It all started with Falling Leaves and Falling Flakes. I make a giant poster that I can tape to a wall or door in the classroom. Then my little guys get up and moving to add pieces to to the poster.
Just add a little Aleene’s Tack It (aka: Miracle Glue) to the back of each bubble gum and they can stick and unstick the pieces. The key to the success is that fact that it gives little bodies something to do with themselves! The time right after Valentine’s day isn’t exactly spring but my guys were sick of the Falling Flakes version so I decided to go with gum balls!
One set is for Apraxia. It features 174 cards and 11 homework sheets are included to target syllable patterns of increasing complexity. Each card includes a piece of gum that pictures an image and word. In the bottom left corner of the card a black dot is included. These dots represent the number of syllables and allow students to touch them while they produce the sound, emphasizing multi-sensory practice. Included patterns: VC, CV, CVC, CVCV, CVCV, CVCV, CVCVCV, CVCVC, CVCC, CCVC, and CVCCVC.
The other set is for Phonology. 144 cards and 8 homework sheets are included to target phonological processes using minimal pairs. Each card includes a piece of bubble gum that pictures an image and a word. The top left corner of the card is marked by color and pattern to help organize the card set. Included patterns: Final Consonant Deletion, Fronting, Stopping, Gliding, Cluster Reduction, Syllable Deletion
Here’s a quick peek at those cards up close!

Looks wonderful! I have falling flakes and it is great for my younger students!
I LOVE this! LOVE how it allows the kids to move in an intentional way!!
How big did you print out that gum ball machine?
The packet comes with a regular one-sheet machine and it also comes with 4 pages that you print and then assemble together which makes the poster version.
Could you please give ideas of how to use the b/w homework pages?
Hi Meryl! I like to have the kids use do-a-dot bingo markers on them!
What are the white dots for?
