When is the last time you had dinner with your graduate school SLP friends? Do you start the conversation determined NOT to talk about work? I give it 5 minutes before you’re taking about FEES, fluency, and LRE. There’s a reason that our conversations always turn back to work… no one else quite “gets” what we do. I’m sure your spouse knows what an IEP means or what “due process” indicates, but no matter how hard they try, our non-SLP loved ones just don’t have those shared experiences.
With that in mind, I wanted to start an SLP Bible Study this year. Over 600 people have joined the online Facebook group where we will spend the year focusing on growing closer to God with people who share the same joys and struggles in the day-to-day as an SLP!
I recruited my friends Jenn, Lauren, and Adrienne to help me moderate the group.
The Bible Study officially kicked off this week. It is a low pressure group. We post prompts on the weekend and you read, study, and respond as you have time during the week. You still have time to join! You can download the devotional Study Guide or purchase the books through Amazon. To learn more about the books, look for the large pink photo pinned to the top of the group!

Nice idea, its hard to find time to study the Bible with so much paperwork as an SLP and generally life. This will make me a better mom, SLP, wife.
