As you know, Interactive Vocabulary Books have become my most favorite set of activities. I posted a Valentine’s set and wanted to show them to you!
There are four different books in the Valentine’s Day set.
These Interactive Preschool Vocabulary books are designed for teaching vocabulary concepts related to Valentine’s Day. The interactive books are designed to allow students to match pictures to each page of the book using velcro.
These books are really great for minimally verbal students. They can show their knowledge without needing to verbally produce answers, just match. For kids just learning to express themselves in single words or simple phrases, pictures support that level of speech. If students are communicating in sentences they can make up their own language to describe the picture/scene.
Interactive books give little hands something to do. They also have a very clear ending. The kids can see if they get the 12 pictures done they are finished with this activity. I can work on many additional goals (verbs, pronouns, functions, attributes, etc.) while targeting this activity. This meets the curriculum vocabulary for my preschool programs during the first month of school.
The four books included in this set are:
-Valentine’s Day: basic concepts about the day and ideas of Vday.
-Where is the Heart? Where questions and locations
-Making Cards: the steps for making and delivering cards
-Valentine’s Day Actions: 12 different actions with emphasis on he/she pronouns.
Each page includes a HOMEWORK sheet to send home. It lists the vocabulary and leaves room for the SLP or teacher to write in what specifically the student worked on.
Happy Valentine’s Day from me to you!! You can download the packet in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.

I love your interactive book sets and have almost all of them! I am also wondering from whom did you purchase your Velcro dots?. It would sure make assembling so much faster if I didn’t have to cut all that Velcro!
Thanks again for all of your great products!

I was just researching the velcro dots…I had the same thought as you both! I found some for $10 and under (plus shipping) depending on how many you buy on ebay.
LOVE these interactive books and my kiddos do too! 🙂
