Throughout the school year many of my families and students need help with helping prepare their kids for medical visits. I’ve used a few different ideas and I thought I’d share them all in one place for you.
I like to pair videos and interactive vocabulary books!
My favorite videos come from the most adorable boy named John John. John John happens to love making ‘How-To’ videos for kids. They are the PERFECT social story because they are really detailed!
How to go to the dentist.
How to go to the eye doctor.
How to go to the Pediatrician.
To give the kids a chance to prepare over time you can add these interactive vocabulary books to your classroom bookshelf. They are great to let parents borrow too!
Included in this packet: 3 Interactive Books that teach young children what to expect when they go to the doctor, dentist, or optometrist. Social stories are a great resource for parents and a great way to prepare students with social difficulties for doctors visits
You can grab the set in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
