I’m so excited to have some new phonology and apraxia cards up in my store! They will be perfect for all winter long! The sets feature cards that you can use in many ways. My favorite way to play is to print the included posters. The pictures (snow globe, snowman, winter tree) will print in four sheet that you can tape together and mount to a poster board. Laminate that and then tape it up to the wall. Add a few velcro dots and you’re in business! The kids can get up and stick their snowflakes to the poster. I’m planning to use a different poster each month to keep it interesting.

This packet is developed to target simple syllable patterns to target Childhood Apraxia of Speech. This packet will also be beneficial for other speech disorders. The packet uses many early developing sounds such as /p, b, m, n, t, d, w/. Some of the chosen targets include more variety of sounds including /s, r, l, f, k, g/. Using this variety of sounds will target all of your students’ sounds to capitalize on any sounds they already have in their phonetic inventory, while practicing missing sounds.

To Play: 174 cards and 11 homework sheets are included to target syllable patterns of increasing complexity. Each card includes a snowflake that pictures an image and word. In the bottom left corner of the card a black dot is included. These dots represent the number of syllables and allow students to touch them while they produce the sound, emphasizing multi-sensory practice. The top left corner of the card is marked by color and syllable pattern to help organize the card set. To play, print all snowflakes. Students can either play with a single-sheet in front of them or with a poster size globe. It’s recommended to play with the snow globe, but I also included other playing boards to provide flexibility. I print the poster globe, attach it with tape to a wall, and attach 18 Velcro dots. Attach dots to the back of the snowflake cards and then let students add/remove them from the globe.
