I’ve had several requests for a tour of my office at school. Over the last few days, my co-workers and I gave the space a major facelift so I’m happy to share a tour! Check out the video below!
A few details: I work in a district preschool with 2 other SLPs. We have 13 SpEd preschool classrooms. We use an inclusion model so all our services are provided in the classroom. This office is just where we do everything that isn’t therapy!
Let me know if you have any questions about something you saw on the tour!

Cute space! And you have so much of it! I have to admit, I’m kind of jealous!
I just read that you have 13 classrooms with 3 SLPs…how do you make that work? I work in preschool too. We have 4 FT and 2 PT SLPs for 11 classrooms (including one social-communication classroom), itinerant and evals. We are stretched THIN! How do you divvy up the caseload?

9 of our classrooms are 50/50 split with 8 peers and 8 IEP kids. They come half-day. We go into each classroom for an hour twice per week. We have 4 classrooms that are specialized learning centers. They do not have peers, only up to 8 identified students. We usually end up with 125-140 IEP students by the end of the year between the three of us. I do the evals so consider that .6 therapy and .4 evals. We’re super busy!

Are your preschool classes full day or half day?

I didn’t didn’t work that clearly: Are the 4 specialized learning centers full day or half day?
adminSRN says
They are 5 hrs. 8-1, while our half-day classes are 2.5 hrs.

Hi! I read that at your school you use an inclusion model so all services are pushed in. How do you go about pushing in for everything? Or what does that look like? I’m a CF and will be needing to do push-in for the majority of my preschoolers on my caseload and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with pushing in, making sure I’m working on the students goals, and taking data!

Try working whole group with them for circle and then working 1-1 with them in play or at a small table in the classroom. I plan with the teachers so I match what theme they are working on that week.

Your work area is so inviting! It certainly makes going to work each day much more enjoyable. I loved your inspiration speech bubbles for each team member. Would you mind sharing the app or website you used to create the lettering? Thanks in advance. You are an inspiration, even to a veteran SLP, like me!

Thanks Ann! Those are made on Tagul.com

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking that I may borrow your idea to have my students create a mindfulness bulletin board this year.

Jenna, would you mind sharing the reference for the article about being a Marigold? Thanks!

Where did you get the awesome shark?
adminSRN says
It’s from Oriental Trading!

I love your “Be a Marigold” magnets. Would you share your template for that or let me know where one could find it?
Thanks!

Where did you get the black plastic container on the table to the right of you desk an next to the “ruler” box pictured in the last picture of the three picture title? I have an old white one that I inherited at one of my schools years ago. I love it because it’s just the right size for my folder games. I wish I had more.
