Hey AAC friends. If you’re like me, mid-October has meant you HAVE NO TIME. If you’re looking for an organized easy system for implementing AAC, I wanted to bring your attention to my AAC Core Word of the Week sets. They can be customized to work with any type of AAC. I made sets 1-4 (four months of lesson plans) last year and this year I’m aiming to keep adding new packets! I just posted set #5 (plus 1-5 in a bundle) this week.
Catch this Facebook Live video to learn more!
The set uses Smarty Symbols in the products because each AAC program uses copyrighted symbols. You can use this packet with any AAC device.
The packet includes:
Parent Intro Letter
Staff Intro Letter
Parent Model/Elicitation Explanation Sheet
The following materials are provided for each core word:
Weekly External Door Sign
Weekly Staff/Parent Letter
Room Signs
Data Sheet
Activity Sheet
Activity Sheets on rings
Interactive Vocabulary Book
App Recommendation/Ideas
My W.O.W. Book cover
W.O.W. weekly sheet
Coloring Sheet
The packet also includes a set of editable pages where you can add your own symbols/text so that you can use the same symbols used in your student’s device. The editable documents include: parent intro letter, staff intro letter, data sheet, classroom sign, staff update sheet, room signs sheet, and W.O.W. book collage sheet.
So if you’re interested in utilizing these AAC kits, you can grab them in my TpT store:
AAC Core Word of the Week: Set 1
AAC Core Word of the Week: Set 2
AAC Core Word of the Week: Set 3
AAC Core Word of the Week: Set 4
AAC Core Word of the Week: Set 5
AAC Core Word of the Week: BUNDLE #1
I can’t wait to hear how you’re implementing them in your classrooms!

Ahhhhh, I’m struggling to use the PDF (editable) packet. I am using LAMP, so I THINK I download the correct symbols (PRC) but I am struggling to get it to paste it into the document.

The Editible version is powerpoint and not PDF. You just copy them on top of what is already showing. Email me if you need more help! jenna@thespeechroomnews.com

Hi Jenna!
I love these packets! I use them with my
Special Ed 3, 4, 5 yr old classes as low tech. However, I have older students on my caseload and would love to customize these to match core vocabulary they aready have on Proloquo or Lamp.
Is each packet editable? I have several if not all….
