It’s May and therefore I’ve got my summer plans on my mind. A trip to Colorado and a trip to Phoenix. I’ve also had the dreaded ‘summer homework packet’ looming over me. Until now!
I wanted to show my parents some ways to turn their normal summer activities into speech and language activities! I took 10 regular summer activities and made a worksheet explaining how to speechify them!
This packet includes materials for a summer speech and language packet for preschoolers.
Included:
1 Summer Intro Letter
10 Learning through Play Activity Sheets
Beach, Picnic, Pool, Bubbles, Bikes, Chalk, Zoo, Soccer, Dress Up, Library
Each of the 10 included Learning Through Play handouts features a different summer activity. An intro letter encourages parents to use every day play to facilitate communication skills. Each page features one language idea, one speech idea, a target vocab list, and a concept to focus on.
Take it easy on yourself with those no-prep summer packet for preschool (and Kindergarten too) aged students. I don’t send anything else home with my students. At the bottom of the intro letter I just add a blurb to remind parents of the current goals. As simple as ‘Keep practicing your s-blends and categories this summer!’
Used without the intro letter, these handouts are perfect for leaving with parents at the end of a speech therapy session or posted in hallways and offices!
Check them out in my TpT Shop! Let the summer countdown begin!

This is perfect! My district is always trying to improve parent involvement – I’m pretty sure I could get some bonus points with these! Thank you! 🙂
